This year, the PriceX Conference was held 25-27 June in Key Biscayne, Florida. This was the 20th Anniversary of the program which is produced by the Institute for International Research, IIR.
Presentation Title: Integrating Pricing into the Back End of Innovation
The front end of innovation is about selecting ideas and predicting the future. The back end of innovation is the implementation portion of product and service development. It includes the critical pricing component. It is tempting to develop pricing models for new products by mimicking the 20th century techniques of successful companies.
- Endgame concepts – imagining the future before engineering, marketing, and sales make sub-optimized
choices in the present - Elevating the importance of pricing as the product and service development requirements are adopted
- Interpreting and integrating feedback from multiple channels to make robust decisions
- Product launch architecture to showcase the value of your solution to the distribution channel and target customers
The presentation was part of "The Graduate Pricer" track which was chaired by Mike Marn, Director of Pricing Services, McKinsey & Company, Inc. This tract was formulated for those in the advanced stages of pricing, focusing on NEW techniques/tools.
