Superdome

Hewlett-Packard introduced their high-end UNIX server, Superdome, in September 2000. From March through September, IntroDesigns provided assistance to the HP Services team on:

Highlights of ways that IntroDesigns focused efforts to manage each of the four primary factors that affect product launches are listed below:

Time - The 12 September launch date was set by management to coincide with the HP World conference. IntroDesigns established and managed a weekly countdown to manage launch activities for HP services marketing representatives. Activities such as the product structure and pricing activities were complete and product orders could be taken on the launch date. Messaging was consolidated to ensure a consistent presentation at the launch event.

Resouces - The primary challenge was managing resources across multiple groups. Since Superdome includes support and services, marketing messages had to be integrated across multiple divisions. IntroDesigns facilitated weekly launch team meetings.

IntroDesigns provided product management and project management resources.

Quality - HP is noted for its high quality standards. During this project, new HP corporate branding guidelines were introduced. IntroDesigns ported existing materials and ensured that new collateral met the new guidelines.

Scope - Superdome is the largest project HP has ever done. Often the biggest challenges of the project was communication across the teams. The geographical scope was often global.

Note: The Superdome video project was done with Mark Hart as the project lead while working for IntroDesigns.
